The first trailer for 'Thangalaan' has arrived, showcasing Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role set against the backdrop of Karnataka's Kolar Gold Fields. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film portrays Vikram as a local leader in a historical narrative where locals rise against British oppression over land rights. With a compelling storyline and a strong ensemble cast, including Vikram, 'Thangalaan' promises to be an engaging historical saga.
'Thangalaan', initially slated for a January 2024 release, faced several postponements due to unavoidable circumstances. Earlier reports hinted at August 15 being set as the new release date, although this has yet to be officially confirmed.
In addition to Chiyaan Vikram, the film features Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Arjun Anbudan, and Sampath Ram in significant roles.
Co-produced by Studio Green, Neelam Productions, and Jio Studios, 'Thangalaan' boasts a script penned by Ranjith, Tamil Prabha, and Azhagiya Periyavan. The technical team includes composer GV Prakash Kumar, editor Selva RK, and cinematographer Kishor Kumar.
Chiyaan Vikram's most recent appearance was in 'Ponniyan Selvan II'.
